Costume Finding Woes

So since it’s October, and I’m no longer the hermit I was last year, I’ve been trying to figure out a great Halloween costume. The past 2 years have been good, I was a ceiling fan in 2006 (GO CEILINGS!), and a Blue Barracuda from Legends of the Hidden Temple last year. I like being clever, or having some sort of nostalgic costume—I’ve had people tell me my costume was the best at the party on several occasions, and unfortunately, I don’t think it’ll happen this year, but hopefully it won’t be a total bust. I usually like the option of wearing jeans or black pants with my outfit, but for some reason I feel like I should go all out this year…I don’t know, maybe because Halloween is on a Friday this year? Anyway, it doesn’t matter why I want a good costume, it just matters that I want a good costume.

I went to Target the other day, just to see what they had—and it was basically a bunch of bad looking, lame costumes—even the Ghostbusters costume was disappointing. The options I came up with this morning included Cher Horiwitz, Dr. Girlfriend, Wilma Flintstone, Betty Rubble, and Hermione Granger. I’ve narrowed it down to either Wilma or Hermione (I’ll let my blogees know when I decide). My story continues after the jump.

Cher H. would be awesome, but it’d be difficult to find one of her signature outfits, namely the yellow plaid one. Dr. Girlfriend would be great, but expensive, and everyone would thing I was going as Jackie O. Anyway, it’s hard finding a girl Halloween costume if you aren’t going for the slutty look—because if you don’t do the slut look, you end up looking like Willow Rosenberg at the Cultural Exchange dance or on any given Halloween…

When searching for “adult” anything, you get some crazy links, so “Adult Hermione Granger” probably wasn’t the smartest move. It took me to some crazy places on the internet—the images are proof enough, but the fan fic pages linked in this paragraph…kinda NSFW. I mean, honestly, Draco and Hermione Erotic fanfic? Come on! And that’s all I have to say about that (oooh, pop culture tourettes in action).
