Goodbye, Muppet style...
Oy vey, the last few weeks have been super crazy. I moved out of a house, participated in my brother's wedding festivities, prepared for a month long trip to the big city, and last but not least, moved away from Columbia, SC.
Whenever I leave NYC, or really anywhere, I think of this song and it makes me tear up a little--not gonna lie. Anyway, I thought it'd be a pretty appropriate song to post after my move to G'ville.
Anddd, to all of my Cola pals, I miss you already :).

Swine Flu, Everybody Panic!
Since there's literally nothing on the internet this week that doesn't have to do with Susan Boyle or the coming swine flu apocalypse I thought we should all take a moment to reflect on these words from the only expert on pigs I know.
In the event that this whole thing wipes out the human race... well there will be no one left to judge that this is in poor taste.

Seriously, I need an explanation...
A couple of weeks ago I posted a video that I happened across starring Demi Lovato (aka the poor man's Miley Cyrus), and some of my precious Muppets. I pondered to myself (and to my blog), why would Demi be singing with Beeker and the Electric Mayhem, and why on earth would Dr. Teeth allow the Electric Mayhem to play backup to the Camp Rock song? BTW, I don't buy the puppet excuse. As far as I'm concerned we all live in the Greg the Bunny universe. I digress.
ANYWAYS, last night I came across another disturbing Disnified video. This time starring Mickey's favorite purity peddlers, the Jonas Brothers, and that sexy swine, Miss Piggy. So I decided there had to be something to this--was the Muppet show back?!? And did they put it on the Disney Channel (eek)? Well, the answer is, kinda sorta, but not really. These 'performances' are part of an occasional variety show called "Studio DC: Almost Live," where Muppets and Disney 'favorites' perform together. The fact that I didn't know about this is actually kind of shocking to me--given my love for Muppets, and my bizarre tolerance/enjoyment of Hannah Montana--I'm surprised I didn't DVR the first show. And even though I can't bring myself to listen to any of the Studo DC songs in their entirety, I'm actually kind of glad that Disney is helping the Muppets remain relevant to this generation of tweens. Keep in mind, they weren't lucky enough to have the Muppet Babies!

Someone explain this to me...
Why is Demi Lovato singing with Beeker and the Electric Mayhem? Seems unfair to me.

I didn't watch this last night or anything...
An all new Muppet special, as you can imagine, it was quite an exciting night for Laura!!
The film co-starred the guy that played the original Tom Collins in RENT, Jenna from 30rock, Uma Thurman, Nathan Lane, Whoopie G, and Mayor Bloomberger. The plot revolved around the Muppets (more specifically Kermie, Gonzo, Pepe the King Prawn, Rizzo the Rat and Fozzie Bear) getting Letters to Santa before Christmas. The music, and frankly, the plot, left something to be desired, but sadly Jim Henson is no longer with us--and they can't all be winners.

Maybe we're too obsessed with Disney Fowl...
So having 2 Scrooge McDuck videos is a little much, and it does seem like our blog features either something from Ducktales The Muppets, or Full House every other day, but my motto is, "write what you know." Or, in our case, post videos of things that you know.
ANYWAY, this was in the related videos section of the previously posted video on YouTube, and I couldn't resist. It's very educational, and could maybe we could learn something from Scrooge in these tough economic times.
P.S. The voice of Scrooge McDuck in this video is the voice of Jock the Scottie in the movie Lady and the Tramp.

Cookie Monster is not a letter of the alphabet!
The adorableness of this video will make you melt (in a good way, not in a Wicked Witch way).
